Freshman Initiation, Homecoming party, Lyceum numbers , and Christmas activities were some of the main activities for the year. The Balcony Players is an organiza- tion that was started this year by and for members of the Speech Class. They pre- sented an evening of one -act plays, a Christmas Program, Senior Play, The Eyes of Tlaloc , and conducted the Speech Festival, March 17. Speeches, readings and a one -act play were all entered m the Festival by members of the class. Members are Delores Howard, Dona Aimes, Marilyn White. James Kyle, Willa Moore, Kay Barth, Evelyn Wilmeth, Joyce Evans, Don Stanley, Keith Dulaney, Frankie Patterson, Dean Sullivan, George Garnett, and Paul Armstrong. j . .— r. Towards New Horizons is the motto of Future Homemakers of America and expresses the purpose of the organization. The colors are red and white. The red rose, symbolic of vibrant, glowing health- a necessary tribute for happiness and efficiency in home and group life, is the flower. F.H. A. Cabinet Members are as follows: Delores Reusser, president; Carrie Smith, vice-president; Marilyn Abercrombie, secretary Jonny Logan, treasurer; Marylou Bowlby, degree chairman; Carlotta Birkhead, song leader; Fran- ces Shoemaker, pianist; Marlene Sullivan, histor- ian; Connie Leatherman, publicity chairman; Bessie Goodin, social chairman; Marilyn Bobbitt, social co-chairman. Members of Future Homemakers made dolls which were sponsored in a national contest by Seventeen mag azine. Sixteen dolls were made and exhibited at the high school. Carrie Smith, vice-president, presented the prize, a box of chocolates, to the designers of the winning doll. The winners were Kay Daniels and Anny Dell Rowen. Compliments of NESSLEY MOTOR COMPANY
