Dr Aldrxch Mlss Carlson, Carl Iohnson, editor: Reva Stronq, director: Iohn Van Diest, vice-president, Stanton lrvine, dlrector Irm Olsen, director, lim Bramblet, treasurer: Don Wheeler, president: Ve-:na Smith, executive secretary. Not plctured A1 Paltenier, director. umni guard of mirecford 5 l . 9 l ALUMNI BOARD OF DIRECTORS And God ir able to make all grace abound toward you,' that ye alwayr having all rufficiency in all thingr, may abound to every good work. II Corinthianr 9:8 One evening early in December, 1955, I received a telephone call from jim Wright who related to me an idea that he believed the Lord had given him. jim then prerented the plan of rending Mirr Carlron on a world tour. A flurter of activity followed. Dr. Aldrich war conrultedg the alumni board war called togetherg and phone callr were made to thore too far away to attend the meeting. All of there planr were kept from Mirr Carlson. Wherever we met alumni, the matter war dircurred and approved by everyone. We rent a letter to all of the alumni arking for an exprerrion of their derirer concerning the trip. Thir war to be on hand for the alumni dinner during Mirrionary Empharir Week, 1956. The alumni at the dinner were to be conrulted for their approval. We thought that by there methodr we would know their derirer and, more important, the will of God. We were overwhelmed. Many letterr and wirer came,' rome with pledger, rome with giftr, and all exprerring approval. Then came the night of the dinner. Taking care of the burinerr in Mirr Carlron'r prerence war a major problem, but not to Wayne Bierer, a rtudent who kept Mirr Carlron bury on the telephone while we received an enthuriartic approval from all thore prerent. The way war open: now we could tell her. jim Wright war called upon to break the newr. She war literally rtunned! However, the preparation for .ruch a large undertaking quickly brought her back to reality. God wonderfully rupplied the necerrary fundr, not iurt from the alumni, but from the whole rchool family and many friendr. We thank God for the grace that He maniferted toward Mirr Carlton on her trip and for her rafe return. It maker the work of the alumni prerident and board much earier and more effective with her here. It ir difficult to exprerr what ir in my heart arl write thir. Goa' har given ur ro much when ive deserve nothing. We know more of Chrirtff love ar we ree it maniferted in ana' through the alumni and rchool family. We need thir love for one another that only the Holy Spirit can put in our heartr, perhapr more than any of ur realize. My earnert prayer ir that, ar we face the future, the alumni arrociation of Multnomah School of the Bible may be ured more and more to promote love and underrtanding and that our orvn heartr may he enlarged ro we might have a greater capacity to love and be loved. Our Lord jerur Chrirt raid, A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another.' ar I have loved you. that ye alro love one another. By thir ,shall all men know that ye are my decipler, if ye have love one to another. john 13:34-35 Nou' we all have the opportunity of taking thir trip with Mirr Carlron around the uorlzl. Will you come and go with ur? For Hir Glory, Smead 0?
