rkiociafevl ,gzwlenffi 0 . . . The Student Council experienced a grand year in serving the Lord as A representatives of the Associated Student Body. The objective of the Council has been to conduct all matters of business in a way of honoring to our Saviour. One of the greatest desires has been to influence an increasing unity among all members of the Student Body. The members of the Council cooperated in many undertakings that expended much time and sometimes interfered with personal plans, Special appreciation must be extended to those who gave so cheerfully of their time. l write in behalf of the Council in expressing gratitude to the Faculty Advisory Committee for their cooperation in representing the Council at the Faculty meetings. Their kindly advice and suggestions were appreciated. We of the Council would not testify that this has been a year without trials and tests but the Lord has been very faithful to answer the prayers of those of you who prayed for the Council activities. This has been a high privilege and a blessed experience representing the Associated Student Body. EXECUTIVE STAFF To encourage, promote, and provide opportunity for interces- sory prayer for the mission field at home and abroad. This state- ment from our constitution reveals the main purpose of this organization. Eleven prayer groups, representing the entire globe, bring the student face to face with the actual needs of the missionaries and give opportunity for prayer concerning these needs. The S.M.U. ministry not only has an inward but also an extensive outward aspect as missionaries from various fields and societies present the needs of the world. This ministry reaches not only into the hearts of the students but also into their pockets as weekly offerings are taken and distributed quarterly to Mu1tnomah's growing family of sons, daughters, and friends. During the past ten years some 320,000 has gone out from the hearts of the students into the work of missions the world around. Working around the theme, Stand in the Gap, found in Ezekiel 22:30 the Student Missionary Union has placed before the students the vast needs in God's harvest field today with the aim that some of them may pray-give-go-and stand in the gap.
