Fdcwizy REV. B. B. SUTCLIFFE. D.D. Multnomah has been especially privileged to have Dr, Sutcliffe as its first president from l936-1943. Dr. Sutcliffe's instruction in the Word of God has been of untold blessing to students from that beginning year in l936 until the Fall of 1948, when illness necessitated his temporary retirement from active teaching. He attended Acadia College, graduated from the Moody Bible Institute and took special work at McGill University in Montreal. His years of fruitful ministry were spent as Superintendent of Mon t Moody Bible Institute for three years: as a member of the exten- sion department of Moody for five years: as pastor of the Calvary Presbyterian Church of Portland for eight years, during which 'ime he organized and taught the Portland Union Bible classes: and as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Tacoma, Wash- ington, for three years. Since 1937 Dr. Sutcliffe has devoted the largest portion of his time to teaching at Multnomah and leading Bible conferences, while he continues as pastor-emeritus of the Tacoma church. Dr. Sutcliffe has taught Synthesis, Analysis, Messianic Psalms, Dispensational Truth, Hcmiletics, Pastoral The- ology, Personal and Practical Work, and Comparative Religions and Cults. REV IOHN G MITCHELL D.D Dr. Mitchell a nationally known Bible expositor a ended Brandon College and graduated from the Dallas Theological Sem mary For three years he was the pastor of the Scofield Memorial Church of Dallas Texas and for several years he was the assistant pastor of th First Presbyterian Church of Tacoma Wash ln addition to his present duties as the pastor of the Central Bible Church Dr Mitchell has been teaching at Multnomah since its founding in 1936 and is a visiting instructor of the Dallas The ological Seminary Students look forward with great anticipation to the hour spent in his classes in Bible Exposition and Spiritual 1 e REV IA STEVENSON BA BD A more recent addition to the faculty is Mr Stevenson who became a member of the Multnomah family in the fall o 1948 Mr Stevenson received his BA degree from Whitworth college and his BD degree from Princeton seminary Before coming to the pastorate of the Vernon Presbyterian Church of Portland he served as a pastor in Washington for nearly ten years M Stevenson teaches Church History and Comparative Religions and Cults REV EARL MORGAN Before coming to Multnomah Mr Morgan travelled extensively in Bible conference work A graduate of the Bible Institute o Los Angeles Mr Morgan was also a member of the first gradu ating class of the Dallas Theological Seminary After serving a pastorate for seventeen years Mr Morgan served as the Co Director of the Santa Ana Service Mens Center during World War Il Mr Morgan Joined Multnomahs faculty in 1948 He teaches Synthesis Exposition and Doctrine Ze Q'

Prior to joining Multnomalfs faculty, Miss l-lalstenrud spent five years as a missionary to Alaska. Her varied training has qualified her spiriiually and educationally for her Christian ser- vice. After completing business school, she enrolled and com- pleted her nurse's training at Moundsflvlidway School of Nursing in St. Paul, Minn., and took post-graduate work at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago. Her Bible training has been received at Bethel lunior College and Missionary Training School, Northern Baptist' Seminary, Southwest Baptist Seminary, and the University of Utah. ln the fall of 1947 she joined the Multnomah family as the school registrar. Miss Halstenrud also is the instructor of the Bible Introduction course.
