FUTURE TEACHERS GAIN EXPERIENCE During the 1967-1968 school year the Mullan Chapter of Future Teachers gained knowledge and skill through their teaching experiences. Various members of the club substituted for grade school teachers throughout the year. Activities the club enjoyed were the annual teachers' reception in the fall, the mid-winter conference in Moscow, a swimming party, and installation of new officers in the spring. FHA E LIGHTENS SCHOOL Pictured at the right are Theresa Trexler and Joyce Moreau. This year Theresa was Vice-President of State Degrees and Joyce Moreau was District I Treasurer. As Mullan's first state officer, Theresa attended state convention in Pocatello and national convention in Los Angeles. Joyce Moreau will participate in the District I con- vention to be held in the fall in Coeur d'Al- ene. Under the presidency of Elaine Giroux, FHA sponsored many different activities. Some of their projects included sewing for the Lewiston Children 's Home, contributing to Opportunity School in Silverton, cleaning the city streets, and a weekly ice cream bar sale, which proved to be very profitable and enjoyable to everyone. The Future Nurses of America began in Mullan High just this year under the guidance of the school nurse, Mrs. Rita Manor. Its main activity was a trip to Spokane, touring the Blood Bank, Deaconess Hospital and School of Nursing, and Shriners' Children 's Hospital. As candy-stripers, they worked at East Shoshone Hospital, Shoshone Manor, and the Shoshone Coun- ty Nursing Home. NHS HOLDS THE LAMP OF LEARNING !
