John Fealko, a 1942 Mullan High graduate, reported to the staff that a former Mullan athlete named Jack Con- well gave Mullan their mascot name of Tigers. In the years 1927-28-29 -30 any member of the athletic team was called a wearer of the M. The M Club was formed in 1930-1931 when Fritz Baier was coach. In the spring the club held their an- nual initiation for eight initiates who went through the initiation and served a picnic lunch for the old members. Another spring activity of the club was the supervision of the painting of the M by the freshmen. CGMMITTEES AID COUNCIL'S WORK The task of selecting a school ring was giv- en to the ring committee, consisting of Paula Tiitso, MarthaASmith, chairman: Cyn- di Ford, and Jackie Clarke. Revising the present student handbook and preparing a new one was the task of the handbook committee. Members are: Mar- tha Smith, Jackie Clarke, Cyndi Ford, Kim Smith, chairmang Tom Wofford, and Paula Tiitso. Members of the student council committee who organized the calendar of the year's events include Cleft to rightj - Toni Groves, Kim Smith, Elaine Giroux, chairmang Mar- tha Smith, Vicki Murray, and Tom Wofford Planning a schedule and securing speakers for the Career Day Program kept the career day committee busy. The committee con- sisted of RaNae Stotelmeyer, Maureen Mc- Eachern, Theresa Trexler, chairmang and Valerie Claypool. TABOR'S - STATIONERS 6th and Cedar Wallace

SECOND ROW: Nanette Claypool, Juli Soini, Marianne Murray, Darlene Walbridge, Cynthia Scheel, Judy Noordam, Ellen Erickson, and Mrs. Hegbloom, advi- sor. THIRD ROW: Shelley Dooling, Cheryl Decker, RaNae Stotelmeyer, Virginia Sutton, Mary Shipman and Joyce Moreau, vice president. TOP ROW: Kim Smith, Toni Groves, and Terri Engebretson. This year the Pep Club made new additions to the club. Not only did they get thirteen initiates, but they also gained the Purple Phan- tom, a large stuffed tiger used along with the cheers of the pep club to spur on school spirit. In addition to cheering on the team, the pep club took tickets at all games, sold purple and white shakers, had a swimming party, made signs for all games, handed out basketball programs, fed the Clark Fork basketball team, and the initiates gave a dinner for all senior members and advisors. The Pep Club was organized in the school year of 1940-41 under the presidency of Lucille Olson, with Helen Posnick as vice-president. THE COMBINATION FOODLINER 303-6th Wallace
