There we enjoyed a cruise on the water, piloted by the he-men of the two classes. Afterwards, we feasted on capon--chicken to you- pop, cake and 'what have you'. Even the rain, which began in the morning and continued through the afternoon, did not dampen our spirits for, from the lake, we went to the skating rink and theater. Mr. Bunch, our sponsor, and Miss Newman accompanied us. A few of our members were honored very highrm Topping the list was Ralston Daily, better known as WSonny', who ranked first and second on his tenor solo in the musical comests at Tahlequah and Stillwater, and whose timely topic won first in the County 4-H Meet. Bobby Bethel was awarded a S100 war bond for his achievement in 4-H work and Emma Condren placed second on her soprano solo at Tahlequah and was a participant of the Girl's Qxar- tette that rated superior at Stillwater Mildred Owens and Lily Powell were chosen to lead the Seniors for Baccalaureate and Commencement exer elses Lily was also elected Secretary of the Student Council Truly, this was an eventful year!! When roll call was given for the last stretch in the race of knowledge, we found that again our number had decreased with a loss of six Ted and Fred Howell and Lee Dale Osburn enlisted in the army Hellen Gipson traveled to California, Joan Wilson entered school at Sallisaw and Bill Click enrolled in Ft Smith Ibwmwm, we were fortunate to have an addition of two, Dorcel Garner and Roy Henderson, veterans of the Navy and World War II, who had returned to finish their last semester's work The first step in organizing our class was the election of officers Roy Henderson was chosen President, Lester hallace, Vice President, Lily Powell, Secretary and Treasurer and Ellzabeth Sea bolt as Reporter Mr Phillips was selected as Sponsor The wedding bells certainly rang in the Sen lor class near the last of the school year Im a diately after Roy's graduation, he and Joyce ANMJ1 became Mr and mr The second member of our class to marry was Elizabeth Seabolt, commonly . .
