These boys, Dorcel Garner and Roy Henderson, were great assets to the team, but only played the first semester. In the first tournament of the year which was held in Warner,the Bulldogs lost their first game. This loss was to a classy team from Kinta. Oar boys played brilliantly, but were not strong enough to overcome the opponent. Playing the first game of the county tourna- ment, the Bulldogs looked very sharp, with the boys racking up some amazing tallies. But even this was not enough to defeat the large-sized Vian team, who went on to win the game. Our first meeting in the district tournament was somewhat different. The Bulldogs didn't play as razzle dazzle as they had in the county tourna ment They were defeated by Keota by one point, which was really a heartbreaker After Garner and Henderson's graduation, the roster consisted of atlock, Blaylock, Wallace, Powell, Rogers, Baker, Dollar, Morgan, Daily and Patterson All in all, Muldrow produced a very good cage team of which we can all be proud The girl s team won two of their confennme games They showed strong spirit and willingness to work, but they just couldn't seem to make the baskets The squad consisted of Green, Harvell, Daily, Arnett, Steely, Asbill, Price, Gibbons, Cole Owens, Mitchell, and Powell In the much discussed class tournament, the senior girls and junior boys were the victors senior boys had to withdraw due to lack of players Well folks, this is your old sports editor of 1946 47 giving you a last sum ary of the basketball events of the year, bidding you adieu and wishing Muldrow School many successful years in sports Goodbye, JifJfJ37'w J 03 F91 L97 44 I F .1 1, 'f F ,W 3 7 5 3 3 if ill 1 i777?i7777777777777777,11gi7f J' U 1.
