Administration The Administration of Mulberry High School is composed of Mr. Harold Barker, Principal; Mr. Bill Flanagan, Assistant Principal; and Mrs. Henrie Sparkman. Curriculum Coordinator. Their duties are many. The Administration is re- sponsible for the overall operation of the school. They try to provide a school which will prepare students for life in society as good citizens. Some of their duties are: control of pupils, programs, and personnel; maintenance of building, grounds, and equipment; discipline of stu- dents and maintaining order; scheduling; guidance; attending and participating in school functions; public relations and parent confer- ences; and assisting teachers and departments. On top of all these duties is added much paperwork which includes internal accounts and budgets. Their goals are many and varied, and they work to make the school a vital force in the com- munity. TOP: Mr. Harold Barker, principal, has been at Mulberry High School for five years. He is a native of Ashland. Kentucky and graduated from Morehead State University in Morehead. Kentucky. Before coming to Mulberry he was in the service and taught in Kentucky, and Ohio. He was at Lakeland High School for one year and Southwest Junior High in Lakeland for three years. BOTTOM LEFT: Mrs. Henrie I. Sparkman. Curriculum Coordinator, has been at Mul- berry High for eight years. During her first four years, her duties included Guidance Coordinator, World History teacher, and Department Head. For the past four years she has served as Curriculum Coordinator. BOTTOM RIGHT: Mr. Bill Flanagan, assis- tant principal, has taught and coached in Polk County schools for 15 years Previously, he taught and coached for seven years in Ten- nessee. He was bom in Alabama and at- tended school there. 8

Faculty TOP LEFT: Mr. Sylvester Andrews. Vocational Agriculture teacher, has been at Mulberry for four years. This year he taught Tractor Mechanics. Agriculture Mechanics and Equipment Operation. Nur- sery Operation, and Landscape Maintenance. He also helps sponsor Future Farmers of America. TOP RIGHT: Mr. Edwin C. Anthony, Librarian, has been at Mulberry High for eleven years. He is a media specialist, and is also director of night school. CENTER LEFT: Mrs. Dorothy Bishop. Business Education teacher, has been at MHS for seven years. She teaches Beginning Typewriting and Beginning Shorthand. She works part time in Guidance, co-sponsors FBLA, and is a Junior Class advisor. CENTER: Sergeant Glen Bohlander has been at MHS for 3 years. He is an ROTC instructor. Drum and Bugle Corps assistant supervisor. Drill Team supervisor, and Sabre Club advisor. RIGHT: Ms. Audrey Brooks. Home Economics teacher, has been at MHS for4 years. This year her courses taught included Exploration of Child Care Careers, Child Development, Child Care Services, Cothing and Textiles, Cus- tom Dressmaking, and Housing. She is advisor to Future Homemak- ers of America and the chairman of the Faculty Social Committee. BOTTOM: Mr. Edgar F. Campbell has been at MHS for 4 years. His subjects taught this year were Drafting I and II. and Materials and Fabrication I and II. He also coaches baseball.
