Physical Education Department TOP—Ms. Mancusi, girls P.E. instructor, times speedy Stacy lackson's 600 yard dash. BOTTOM-Coach Collins Smith, boys P.E. instructor, directs the boys' daily exercises. The youth of today are in great need of physical. exercise. The physical education department is the only opportunity that students have to get their much needed ex- ercise at school. Everyone knows that when you feel good physically, you are more mentally alert. Physical education is designed to help students get in better physical shape so that they will actually learn more in their other classes. As well as giving exercises for specific muscle groups, the MHS P.E. de- partment tries to include as many carry-over activities as it can, so that our students will continue to exercise after they have completed physical education requirements. It is important to develop the mind, as we grow, but without the devel- opment of the body with the mind, the end result is only half a being. Physical education in school is your chance to help your body grow as best it can-Don't Miss It. 19
