SUMMARY 1954 The Pinecrest-Mulberry game opened the 1964 football season with a loss. Considering that this year's team was made up of the youngest age group to play in many years, the team and coaches are to be congratulated on the fine showing they made. Throughout the season the team fought hard. In some games they led in score to the last few minutes of the contest, but were outplayed for losses, due to greater weight, experience or breaks of the game. Another season's practice for this group will do much toward producing a winning team. Although several games were lost, the Panthers tied Frostproof, won from Sebring and the Homecoming game with Kathleen. The year closed with a smashing victory 14-0 over the West Coast Champions at Brooksville.
