MR. RUSSELL WEGER, B.S., University of Illinois, is in charge of vocational agriculture instruction. Agriculture 1, II, and IV provide his daily class schedule. Mr. Weger is also FFA advisor. Helping the boys with their various projects plus taking them on field trips, take up a large part of his time. Mr. Weger and his wife, Evelyn, have two daughters, Laura and Mary. Mr. Weger ' s pastimes are watching television and horseback riding. MRS. CARLA FOWLER, B.A., Southern Illinois University, is a first year teacher at M.G.H.S. and her subject is home-economics. Her classes include home -economics I, II and family living. Many new innovations have been added to the home-economics format this year and Mrs. Fowler is largely responsible for them. As F.H.A. advisor Mrs. Fowler spends much of her time counseling her F.H.A. ' ers and organizing the various activities in which they are involved. Mrs. Fowler ' s husband. Jack, is a guidance counselor at St. Elmo High School. Mrs. Fowler ' s favorite hobbies include traveling and reading. This summer the Fowler ' s intend to build a new home. 14

MRS. MARGARET STUDEBAKER, B.S., Greenville College, is instructor of the newest academic subject to be added to the high school curriculum --Spanish. Her duties include classes in Spanish I and II in the high school plus teaching English in the junior high. One can always tell the Spanish room by the colorful posters and dis- plays. This year her classes presented Cinderella and Snow White in Spanish during the Talent Show at tlie Fall Festival. Mrs. Studebaker and her husband, Bob are the parents of a thirteen month old baby boy, Matthew LeRoy. In her spare time Mrs. Studebaker likes to knit and read. MR. GEORGE H. BARTON, B.M., Vandercook School of Music, Chicago, is one of the busiest men around M.G.H.S. Presenting programs of music at Spring Concert, Baccalaureate, Commencement, various P.T.A. meetings and school assemblies plus planning and directing the Fall Festival provide a major share of his duties. In addition to instructing girls ' chorus, concert and marching band, Mr. Barton also gives instructions in instru- mental music to grade school students. Mr. Barton and his wife have two daughters who, like their father, teach music. Mrs. Barton is a frequent spectator at musical functions here and the music department ' s best fan. An important member of the Barton household is Sandy, a cocker spaniel dog and the apple of his master ' s eye. 13

MR. BYRON McGILL, B.A., Southern Illinois University, heads the Industrial Art Department. His daily class schedule includes four classes of Industrial art and two classes in drivers ' education. Mr. McGill is also a frequent bus driver for many extra curricular school activities. Mr. McGill and his wife, Stephanie, have two children, Leesa 7 and Douglas 2. Mr. McGill ' s favorite pleasures include hunting, fishing, and tinkering. MRS. LORRAINE HAZLETT, B.A., Robert Weslyan College, is one of the new teachers on the faculty this year. Her field of commercial instruction provides classes in typing, advanced typing and office practice, and book- keeping. She is advisor to the yearbook and Messenger staffs and her afternoons are almost always taken up by their activities. She and her husband, Ray, are parents of two-year-old twins, Joyce and Keith. Spare time is something Mrs. Hazlett doesn ' t have, but if she did, reading and traveling would be at the top of her list. 15
