SENIOR The M.U.H.S. instrumental music program serves two definite purposes in our high school. Its main purpose, of course, is to teach the mastery of a wind or percussion instrument according to the ability of the student and to give each student the opportunity to explore good music in the rehearsal situation. Our two concerts and band contest are the yearly result of part of this effort. The second, and not unimportant, phase of our work is service. Groups marching for the four or five home football games, play- ing for the nine basketball games, playing for community parades and entertaining during the intermissions of plays are proof of what instrumental music means to the school and the community. 18
