JUNIOR PROM Hawaiian Nights was the theme for the Junior Prom, held April 18, 1952. The gymnasium was deco- rated with streamers in various shades of lavender starting at the far end in a deep color and getting lighter as one came toward the stage. The walls were decorated in a typical Hawaiian manner. On the back wall of the stage was a huge painting of Waikiki Beach. The Grand March was led by King Carlton Sayer and Queen Ruth Bornfleth. The music was provided by Cullen Casey's Orchestra. Queen King RUTH BORNFLETH CARLTON SAYER King Queen EDWARD RACHWAL EILEEN WHITE HOMECOMING For the first time in the history of M.H.S. the In- dians played their homecoming game under lights. They made it a success by defeating Union Grove 45 to 0. The homecoming dance followed the game. The gym was decorated in keeping with the season. Queen Eileen White and King Eddie Rachwal made a charm- ing couple as they led the dancing to the orchestra of Charles Schmoller. Back Row—C. Sayer. R. Bornfleth. P. Hunter. P. Kober, D. Orgas. J. FOOTBALL TEAM The 1952 edition of the fighting Indians was another tribute to Coach Danielson and Coach Bray's ability for moulding football teams. The boys had a 7-1 record for the 52 campaign. Until they were de- feated by a powerful Whitewater City High team, they had won 23 con- secutive victories. Some of the fellows who seem to deserve specific mention for their fine individual showings are: George Porter (conference's leading scorer and unanimous choice for all-conference honors); Dennis Barber, captain and another all-conference player; Dale Orgas, all-conference; Dave Orgas, all- conference; Carlton Sayer, all-conference; Fred Babeck, all-conference. Due to the splendid spirit of cooperation of the team and the outstanding guidance of the coaches, the boys turned in another fine record. Both of these added pep to the games. The cheerleaders were veterans Nancy Davis, Senior; Janice Rebholz, Junior; and Kaye Martin, Sophomore. The newcomer was Jane Freeman, Freshman. This combination of girls stimulated the responses of our cheer- ing section. Our New Addition Because of the increase in the enrollment of the school, it became neces- sary this year to construct a new building to house the industrial arts department. This building is situated just a short distance north of the school proper. Its size is 30 by 45 feet, and it accommodates classes of twenty boys. Mr. Bray instructs these students.
