The Editor-in-Chief, Elizabeth Elton was assisted by Co-editor, Barbara Mohr, and the Junior Editor Shirley Orth. The Senior Business Managers, Carol Stoltz and Tom Kezman, were assisted by the Junior Manager Rob Moore. Jeff Beardsley designed the cover. Norma Rebholz, Don Rintelman and Jane Schwemmer added the final touches with their clever pictures. Other seniors who served in various capacities were: Vivian Baas, Kay Carroll, Joyce Gloyd, Calvin Hendrickson, Barbara Horn, Gertrude Pett, Leroy Spellman, Nancy Stessl, Jerry Swan, and Dick Underberg. National Honor Society On May 17, 1950, ten new members were initiated by the National Honor Society at a candle light ceremony. Later the old members entertained their parents at a formal tea. Each member of this National Honor Society must maintain a scholastic average of 90, must show ability in leadership, must possess good character traits, and must be loyal in his service to the school. Jerry Swan was elected president; Joyce Gloyd, vice-president; and Kay Carroll, secretary. Miss Piper was the adviser. Student Council The Student Council consisted of three representatives from each class. They were elected at the beginning of the school year by the individual classes. Mr. Horn served as adviser. The officers for this year were Earl Wiehl, President; Neil Barber, Vice- President; and Carol Stoltz, Secretary-Treasurer. The council met at intervals throughout the year to discuss such things as ideas for homecoming and plans for noon hour activities. The 82 students in band and the 110 in the Junior Chorus again par- ticipated in various events throughout the school term. The band students took part in the Annual Music Festival and the Solo Tournament, both held at Whitewater. Twelve students participated in a mass band concert at Burlington on January twenty-ninth, and twelve choir members took part in the choral concert at Burlington on February twenty-sixth. This is the first time the music department has had such an organization. Only members of the senior class were eligible to join. This senior group participated in the concerts presented at Mukwonago this year. Six members were selected for the massed choir at Burlington and a select group sang at the Senior Class Play. Only boys who have won major letters or have managed teams are eligible for membership in this organization. Hi-Y This year the Mukwonago Chapter of Hi-Y again sponsored a trip to Chicago. About 100 students and Hi-Y members took advan- tage of the opportunity. Senior Class Play The class of '51 presented The Adorable Imp as its play. A cast of eleven students was selected by Miss Ott for this three-act comedy-farce which was presented on April 13. The squad was undefeated. It broke all school records and won the conference championship. The team played as a unit and made use of solid reserves. Earl Wiehl, as captain, did a fine job of leading the team on the field. Good blocking and matchless running turned Bill Hinz into the state's leading ground gainer. Not enough can be said about the coaching which was done by Mr. Danielson and his assistant Mr. Bray. These two men turned fundamentals and team play into a winning combina- tion. Although the boys seemed to be off to a bad start with a defeat from Whitewater, they continued by winning a victory over all the teams in the conference. As a re- sult they won the trophy. In the tournament, that brought the season to a close, lost the first game to Oconomowoc.
