Mukwonago lost the decisive game of the season to Wilmot. At East Troy in the opening game of the district tournament, the M.H.S. Indians defeated Whitewater, but they dropped the second game to East Troy. That brought the 1949 baseball to a close. Basketball Captain WILLIAM SMART The Mukwonago quintet began its 1949-50 basketball season by defeating Hartland 36 to 29. The next two games were with Union Grove and East Troy. The final scores were M.H.S. 39, Union Grove 26; M.H.S. 48, East Troy 39. The quintet was then beaten three times in succession by Menomonee Falls 33 to 26; Rochester 48 to 40; and St. Mary's 35 to 31. Waterford, on its own floor, defeated M.H.S. 28 to 21. At Norris Farm we won a lop-sided game by a score of 54 to 31. Walworth was defeated 43 to 38. Menomonee Falls came to M.H.S. and trimmed us 59 to 34. The quintet won the next two games from Union Grove and Wilmot. Final scores were M.H.S. 55, Union Grove 43; M.H.S. 49, Wilmot 41. East Troy avenged an earlier defeat by upsetting the quintet 49 to 42. Finally M.H.S. went to Rochester where we were trimmed 60 to 32.

The Cheering Squad The cheering squad of this year consisted of Nancy Davis, a freshman; Jeff Beardsley, Junior; Ken Aplin, Senior; and three veteran cheerleaders, Valerie Smith, Sophomore; Carol Stoltz, Junior; and Annette Kaiser, Senior.
