The student council consisted of three representatives from each class. The members of this governing board were elected by the student body at the beginning of the school year. Mr. Horn served as the adviser. Officers for the year were Earl Wiehl, President; Joe Peterson, Vice- President; and Elizabeth Elton, Secretary-Treasurer. This council met at intervals throughout the year for the purpose of planning and organizing noon hour activities. The Homecoming Dance and Christmas Party, too, were sponsored by this organization. After the ceremony the old members entertained the new members and their parents at a formal tea. Bouquets of bright spring flowers added a touch of color to the tables. In addition to maintaining a scholastic average of 90, all members must be leaders; they must possess good character traits and must be loyal in their service to the school. Alice Ann Schroeder was elected President; Mondy Moore. Vice-President; Donna Davis, Secretary. Miss Piper was the adviser.

With Mr. Hotz as director, the 72 students in the band and the 145 students in the chorus again participated in various events during the course of the year. On March 25 band members entered 90 events of the solo tournament at Whitewater and on May 13 entered as a class A group at the district tournament. Ten band students and twenty choir students entered in a massed band concert and massed choir concert on January 30 and February 27 respectively. These events took place at Lake Geneva.
