After the ceremony the old members entertained the new members and their parents at a formal tea. Bouquets of bright spring flowers added a touch of color to the tables. In addition to maintaining a scholastic average of 90, all members must be leaders; they must possess good character traits and must be loyal in their service to the school. Alice Ann Schroeder was elected President; Mondy Moore. Vice-President; Donna Davis, Secretary. Miss Piper was the adviser.

Pow Wow Under the supervision of Miss Ott, the Pow Wow Staff published six issues of the school paper. Eunice Sayer, editor-in-chief, was ably assisted by Mary Ann Hanson, feature editor; Pat Ward, news editor; and Edward Jaworski, sports editor. Other members of the staff were Carl Verburgt, artist; Madelyn Dettmann, Joyce Lehmann, Doris Sawyer, and Bill Parker, reporters; Barbara Sniderwin, proof reader; Annette Kaiser, Merle Post, and Arlene Edwards, typists. The student council consisted of three representatives from each class. The members of this governing board were elected by the student body at the beginning of the school year. Mr. Horn served as the adviser. Officers for the year were Earl Wiehl, President; Joe Peterson, Vice- President; and Elizabeth Elton, Secretary-Treasurer. This council met at intervals throughout the year for the purpose of planning and organizing noon hour activities. The Homecoming Dance and Christmas Party, too, were sponsored by this organization.
