Year's Activities Set Stage For Students

Physical And Mental Fitness Ancl Good Sportsmanship. Football, hockey, basketball, swimming, track, base- ball, and tennis easily met all the requirements of an effective physical fitness program that year. However, the end result included more than the development of bodily strength. The qualities of fair play, sports- manship, responsibility, leadership, and a healthy re- gard for others accented all sports. Each participant entered his preferred sport because of his desire to play or his will to win. To this were added speed, power, thought, and training. . . . Success, Fun, And Learning. That year that was full of tests, research papers, football and baseball games, and homework also contained plays, assembly programs, concerts, club activities, and pep rallies. ' Setting the stage for countless hours of enjoyment, these activities gave each student the opportunity to express his thoughts and to display his talents. However, they also educated all their participants, Leadership, responsibility, and respect were the qualities which everyone learned. For many of these performances, the characters were awarded school letters, charms, or certificates, but the real awards were hearing the applause from an appreciative audience, or the wonderful satisfaction from a iob well done. Regardless of the award, these activities helped to contribute to the year's success.
