A .2 E 1 E S 3, TVITAL STATISTICS Muhlenberg Township High School was built in 1924-25 at a cost of nearly S335,000. In October 1925, the school was opened with 11 teachers and 272 pupils. The west wing was erected in 1930 at a cost of 370,452 The high school, as it now stands, has 43 classrooms, auditorium, gymnasium, library, cafeteria, teachers' room. first-aid room, and administrative offices. The original area of the school grounds andiiicampus on which the high school, Rosedale Grade School Building, and athletic fields are situated was nearly nine acres. Thirteen acres were purchased for a football field and 36 acres for a junior high school. The athletic field includes field house, track, baseball diamond, soccer field, track and field equipment, and a new, football field. In Februafy 1951, a new wing was completed which houses new, modern shops. a cafeteria. two classrooms. a music room, as well as art facilities, mechanical draw- 5 . , A ing rooms, and practical arts. The cost of the addition, including cafeteria furniture l H and equipment. was approximately S300,000. Classrooms in the new wing can A ,accommodate 255 pupils. while the cafeteria can seat tl-18 students. 1 ' - The enrollment this year in the senior high school is approximately 550. The 7 Q senior high auditorium and gymnasium can each accommodate 500 people. i The enrollment in the junior high school is about 620.
