Sarig Grade School plus the completion of a pumping system for sewage disposal at the high school build- ing sum up a year of planning for school and com- munity betterment . . . seven conscientious men known as the Board of School Directors met of- Hcially once a month to question, debate, and decide issues of necessity to the school . . . assisting the school board in the formidable task of keep- ing the educational machinery well oiled are Mr. Charles Crumbling, superintendent, and Mr. Ker- mit Schmehl, principal . . . helping Mr. Crumbling are two secretaries whose duties range from mak- ing the payroll to giving an attendance report to the state department . . . Mrs. Shaner, secretary to the principal, keeps the students informed about school activities by mimeographing the weekly bulletins . . . these secretaries serve as re- ceptionists to new students and visitors, nurses in the absence of Mrs. Good, and telephone girls . . . Mr. Crumbling oversees the entire school system, including four elementary schools and a junior and senior high school, and approves the curricu- lum . . .
