'l'his "Frisky" lass is a drummer in two bands and a swing orchestra. One can usually see Eileen riding to and from school on her bicycle as bicycling is her favorite pastime. lVIay "I.ceny" "drum" her way to success. ' s -i. - Dorothy Brown Academic. Chorus 12: Muhltohi 11, 12: Observer 11, 12: Girl Reserves 12. This small energetic miss rates music as her favorite subject. In her junior and senior years she was a mem- ber of the girls' special group. "Dot" is interested in air- planes and wishes to help promote aviation for women. May you fly the sky of suc- cess. Estella Sprout Academic. Observer 11.12: Muhltohi 11, 12: Girl Reserves 12: Chorus 12: Debating 10. Jovial and fun-loving best describe "Stell" who posseses brown eyes and naturally wavy brown hair. Estella en- joys almost every kind of activity, but especially likes to roam outdoors. After graduation, Estella intends to become a "lady in white." Dorothy Kutz Commercial. Girl Reserves 12: G. A. A. 10, 11, 12: Bowling Club 12. "Dot's" chief delight is corresponding with a certain young sailor. 'lBuppy" especially enjoys going hunting with her dad and dog, "'I'iny." After graduation, Dorothy would like to work in a de- fense plant and help Uncle Sam, so that sailor may come back soon. Lfie I, Bernice Reed Commercial. Chorus 12: G. A. A. 11, 12: Girl Reserves 12: Bowling Club 12. Tall, attractive and pop- ular best describe this peppy lass. Bernie spends most of her time taking part in all sports, "cutting capers" and writing letters. "Fuzzy" hopes to be "someone's stenog' after her high school days. May t'Bon- nie" reach the top of the ladder! Myrtle Strause Commercial. "Myrt" is a tall. slim girl who was always found in the libra1'y during study period. This peppy miss spends her leisure time playing rec- ords and writing to a cer- tain heart interest in the army. She also enjoys air- plane spotting. -4- Myrle Zimmerman Commercial. Girl Reserves 12. If you see a brown-eyed lass riding to and from school on a bicycle, it prob- ably is Myrle. "Zip's" favorite hobby is writing to "the army." At present she is secretary to Miss E. E. Staudt, teacher of history. In the future she wants to be a secretary. May you "type" your way to success. Jeanne Mervine Home Economics. Chorus 123 Horizon Club 12: Observer 11. "Jeannie" with the light brown hair is one of the quiet girls ot' the senior class. She rates sewing as an in- teresting and useful hobby. "Jeannie" has no definite ambition for the future but the class of '43 wishes her success in whatever field she enters. Ardell Putt Commercial. If you see a blond-haired young lady walking down the street with a pair of roller-skates under her arm, chances are that it is Ardell. for skating is her favorite pastime. Ardell served as secretary to Mrs. M. C. Wertz, civics teacher, during the first sem- ester and to Miss K. E. Hum- ma, sewing teacher, during the second semester. Hazel Moyer c0lYlll"lBl'Cl3l. Band 10, 11, 125 Chorus 12. W h e re there's music, youire sure to find this dark- haired lass, who was a drum- mer in the school band. In her spare time Hazel applies her nimble fingers to sewing. Although undecided as to her future, the class of '43 wishes her success in what- ever iield she enters. Claire Ilg Academic. Girl Reserves 12: Chorus 12. Meet "Sunny," the young- est girl in the senior class, who rates winning recogni- tion in a national poetry contest her biggest thrill. Claire was a member ol' the girls' quartet for two years. In the future Claire in- tends to become a certain SZlllUl"S wife. Betty Searfoss Commercial. Chorus 12: Girl Reserves 12. This green-eyed jitterbug served as secretary to Mrs. S. R. Rothermel, librarian, during her senior year. In connection with her "jitterbugging," "Betts" is fond of the music of Glenn Miller's orchestra. Among her "favorites" are Sammy Kayc's orchestra, baseball. bicycling and read- ing. "Cassie's" ambition is to become a tiling clerk. Shipe, Principal C. S. Crumbling's secretary. and to Mrs. L. K. Rimby. l.atin teacher. After graduation, lzella hopes to obtain a secretarial position or work in a defense plant, Dorothy Dunkle Commercial. Girl Reserves 12. Dottie's special likes arc reading books and taking hikes along woodland roads. Her leisure time is spent in playing the guitar and listening to Sammy Kaye's orchestra. After graduation "Dottie" would like to be some-body's private secretary. May she "pound the keys" to success. Ruth Blatt Academic. Chorus 12: Muhltohi 12: Girl Reserves 12: National Honor Society 12. This lass, one ot' the tall- est members of the class. states that dress designing is her favorite hobby.
