Spooks places bicycle riding, traveling, skating and dancing on her list of favorite hobbies. Most of her spare- time is spent in reading a good book. After leaving Muhlenberg Fern hopes to obtain some kind of a secretarial position. The class of '40 extends its best wishes. This small, studious miss hails from Molltown and is one of the more athletically inclined girls of the class, having played forward on the girls' basketball team and taken an active part in ten- nis. Dorothy is undecided as to her future plans but the class hopes her choice is a pro- gressive one. Betty Hollinger AC3d8YT'IlCl ch0I'US 12: Girl Reserves 125 Handwork Club 12. Betty is one of the studious members of the class al- though she has her lighter moments. She classes Ger- man her favorite subject. As a favorite pastime Bet- ty chooses attending motion pictures. Traveling and cook- ing are close seconds. Betty is undecided about the future, but may it bring her happiness. Dorothy Rubright Academic: Chorus 125 Girl Reserves 125 Handwork Clubr 12. Dot is one of the quiet members of the class and one of the few girls who en- joy sewing. She makes many of her own clothes. Other favorites of this blue-eyed miss are playing the piano and reading. Dorothy has not made any decisions about the future. Whatever you do, the class wishes you success for years to come. Jean Miller Academic: Cheerleading 125 Chorus 123 Observer 125 Little Theatre Club 125 Girl Reserves 12. Short, brunette and brown eyes describe this 12A miss who was seen leading cheers at basketball games during the past year. t'Kitten likes dramatics and participated in the sen- ior class play. Looking into the future perhaps Jean will be seen Wearing a nurses' cap, as that is her ambition. E. Jane Thiele Academic: Chorus 125 Observer 125 Girl Reserves 125 Little Theatre Club 12. Jane is an enthusiastic fol- lower of the flying profes- sion. Stunt flying is the out- standing part of aviation in Jane's estimation. Art and English rank as Thie1e's favorite subjects at school while at home she prefers to make new and fancy foods in the kitchen. After graduation Jane in- tends to become a dental hy- gienist. Good luck Jane! Florence Viering Academic: Handwork Club 12. Sis enjoys serving the public for she is employed as a waitress in a restaurant at Pricetown. When she isn't roller skating on the side- walks of Temple she spends her leisure time knitting or reading a good book. Flor- ence rates typing as her fav- orite subject. Floss is not certain of her plans after graduation, but the class sincerely hopes she will have little trouble mak- ing up her mind.

I- Warfda Adams Academic: Chorus 12. If by chance you hear a peculiar laugh coming from a very small blonde lass you can be assured that it is Wanda. Wanda holds the record of being the shortest girl in the class of '40. In the future she intends to bedeck those blonde locks with a white nurses' cap and maybe become an air hostess. Success to you, Wanda! Gladys Hoover Academic: Chorus 125 Typing Club 125 Girl Reserves 12. This titian haired, blue- eyed miss was an active member of the Girl Reserves, serving as decoration chair- man and representative to the winter conference at Allentown. Glady's hobbies include reading and playing tennis. Hoover hopes to take up secretarial work after grad- uation and later cleaning for a certain young minister. Ethel Shearer Academic: Orchestra 10, 11, 125 Little Theatre Club 125 Observer 125 Girl Reserves 125 Quill and ScroII12. Besides having attained the highest rank in Camp Fire, that of Torchbearer, and receiving the Red Cross Sen- ior Life Saving award, this curly-haired miss found time to tickle the ivorys in the school orchestra for four years. She also spends much time reading and sewing. After graduation Ethel is planning to study music at West Chester State Teachers College. Jean Kirschman Academic: Girl Reserves 12: Chorus 125 Photography Club 12. This jolly miss, who serv- ed as president of the Photo- graphy Club and treasurer of the Girl Reserves during her senior year, is quite popular with her classmates. Jean is fond of swimming and dancing. She also enjoys art. To attend Bryland Insti- tute or study designing is her ambition. May good for- tune be yours in whichever field you choose. Catherine Epler Academic: Observer 125 Girl Reserves 125 Chorus 125 Girls' Industrial Arts Club 12. Pep, vim, and wit best de- scribe this energetic and talkative red-haired miss who served as girls' sports editor and feature editor on the Observer staff. Red has been active in Girl Reserve Work and sports during her senior high school career. 4 In the future Cass in- tends to find success by learning to be a chiropractor. Dorothy Fritz Academic: Typing Club125 Chorus12. This small miss has a pleasing personality and is full of fun. She is very musi- cal and plays a guitar in lo- cal entertaining units. Dotty is a Camp Fire Girl and enjoys camping and the outdoors. When she is not reading about her favorite subjects, which are chemis- try and German, she may be found collecting poems., ' After graduation Fritzie hopes to enter the field of nursing. v Virginia Stout Academic: Typing Club 125 Observer 125 Chorus 125 Girl Reserves 12. This brown-haired lass is rather musically inclined, having sung in the mixed chorus for three years. Ginny has no particular hobby, but enjoys sewing and remodeling clothing., She rates basketball and baseball ace high in the line of sports. Hail to the girl and her trumpet! 'tDee is the only senior girl who plays a trum- pet, and she is quite musial minded as she plays with three local bands and a local dance orchestra. This happy-go-lucky lass is quite popular with the op- posite sex. After graduation Dep would like to study to be a laboratory technician.
