Franklin Hoffa. Academic: Hydroponics Club 12. This short, blue-eyed lad hails from Blandon and uses his bicycle as a means of transportation to and from school. Holla came to Muh- lenberg from Ontelaunee Vo- cational School in his junior year. Besides enjoying swim- ming and fishing, he likes to build and Hy model airplanes. After graduation Franklin would like to take up aero- nautical engineering or get an apprenticeship as a ma- chinist. Charles Weibley Academic: Orchestra 10, 11, 12: Chorus 12: Hydroponics Club 12. This jolly lad enjoys en- tertaining his classmates with his irrevelant remarks. Char- les is rather musically in- clined and rates playing in swing bands his number-one hobby. 'tChas" likes all sports, especially hunting and fishing. Weibley is employed as a handy man at the Carpenter Steel Company, but his main ambition after graduation is to have his own swing band. Harold C. Sassaman Academic: Table Tennis Club 12. This shy, blond-haired lad rates high in his class and likes all his subjects equally Well. When asked about his interest in the fairer sex he said he couldnit be bothered by "tickle gals." Hal swings a mean paddle, as his hobby is table tennis. After he leaves Muhlen- berg "Sassy" plans to be a second Paul Bunyan and take up the study of forestry. Good luck, Hal! Richard Dunkel Commercial: Chorus 12. This blue-eyed lad of the commercial group is inter- ested in auto races. Dick, during his senior year, served as secretary to C. Burg, history teacher. During his pastime Dick can often be seen bowling, which is one of his hobbies. As for the future Richard is undecided as to what he would like to do, but the class wishes him luck and success in his undertakings. Albert J. Stefan - Academic: Hall Patrol 12: Table Tennis club 12. "App" is 5 feet 10 inches tall and tips the scales at 130 pounds. This dark-haired. lad is a member of the hall pa- trol and plays on Muhlen- berg's table tennis team. Stefan stands high in his class and rates mathematics as his best liked subject. When he leaves high school Albert plans to take up aero- nautical engineering. Happy landing to you "Appl" Donald Glick Academic: Orchestra 10, 11, 12: Hydroponics Club 12. This quiet, scholarly lad rates chemistry and mathe- matics as his favorite sub- jects. He utilizes his spare- time by playing convention- al parlor games and render- ing piano selections. Donald is also interested in mens' fashions and designs and re- models most of his clothing. After graduation Glick plans to take a course in sci- ence at Franklin and Mar- shall College. May he find the formula for success. C. Edgett Hagan Academic: Chorus 12: Table Tennis Club 12: Observer 12: Swimming 10, 11, 12. "Chetl' is one of the writers of the class and his ambition is to write a best seller. During his senior year Ed- gett was sports editor of the Observer, and attended all the games to get first-hand information for the write- ups. "Press', is going to study journalism after graduation in order to become a sports writer. Melvin Strausser Industrial. Most of the name pins and plastic mule tie pins which you have seen worn at Muh- lenberg were made by Mel- vin. . Plastic work and stamp collecting are Melly's favor- ite hobbies. He rates mechan- ical drawing and metal shop tops in classes. Strausser hopes to start his own plastic business in the future. Good luck!

Edwin T. Biehl Academic: Soccer 10, 11, 125 Hall Patrol 125 National Honor Society 125 Chorus 125 Little Theatre Club 12. "Moose'! played fullback on the Muhlenberg soccer team and also on the Muh- lenberg Junior Eastern Penn- sylvania Championship squad. He putters around in track a bit, too. Eddie piloted the class of '40 during his senior year. After commencement day Biehl hopes to continue his education in a local college, probably Albright. Good luck, Eddie! Richard Westervelt Industrial: Athletic Club 12. Richard rates dashing around with his pals and all types of sports as his favor- ite pastimes, and metal shop and physical education as his best-liked subjects. For the past few summers Dick worked as a helper on a coal truck, but after complet- ing his high school course he intends to seek employment at the Carpenter Steel Com- pany. May success accompany you, Dick! Arlington Zellers lntlustrial: Hunting and Fishing Club 12. Meet Jitterbug Zellers! t'Arlie" enjoys dancing al- most as well as he enjoys boating, another of his pas- times. Zellers rates hunting and Hshing high. He returned home from Lycoming County with a seven point buck during the hunting season. In the future he hopes to become a salesman. Here's hoping you reach your goal, "Arlie!" Eugene Reed Industrial. "Strumming the banjo and slapping the bassl' are the favorite pastimes of this blue-eyed boy of the 12C home room who is a member of the 'tLone Star Cowgirls and Cowboys." "Jeep," who hails from Al- sace Hill, rates mechanical drawing tops. After graduation Eugene would like to Work in an airplane factory as a mechan- ic. If you meet a dark-haired blue-eyed senior who likes to swim and play basketball, loves to eat ice cream, is 5 feet 11 inches tall, and is popular with the opposite sex you may be sure it is "Hun." 'tArt', is one of the more versatile athletes having earned letters in basketball, soccer and baseball. After graduation "Hun" plans to Work in a steel mill or join the navy. Richard Fehr Commercial: Hall Patrol 125 Track 11, 12. Attaining an office position is the main ambition of this lad. During the past year he served as captain of the third floor hall patrol. Richard was on the track team for the past three years. In the field of sports, hockey rates tops with him. 'Good luck, Richard! The class wishes you success. Herbert Walborn Commercial: Basketball 125 Soccer 125 Hall Patrol 125 Track 11. This curly-haired lad can usually be seen driving a Dodge in or around Temple because of a certain attrac- tion there. "Hubie", who was presi- dent of the class in eleventh grade, is interested in sports. During his pastime 'Herb enjoys listening to some of the popular jazz bands. Herbert Wants to learn to fly an airplane after gradu- ation. Norman Christ Commercial: 0. G. A. Club 125 Hall Patrol 12. Driving a car is this quiet 12B lad's hobby. He also likes to eat ice cream. "Scribe" enjoys such sports as basketball, skating and baseball, and rates shorthand as his favorite subject. Norman was secretary to Miss E. I. Gehris, art teach- er, during his senior year. As to the future he is undecided, but nevertheless the class wishes him well.

"Jack" is one of the more athletically inclined boys of the class and during the soc- cer season he played with the Muhlenberg Juniors, who won the Eastern State Soc- cer championship. Jack plays the Euphon- ium fbaritone horny in the school band and in the Met- ropolitan Band, Laureldale. After leaving school Jack hopes to obtain a typing po- sition in an ofiice. Good luck, Jack! Albert Selig Academic: Swimming 11, 12, Chorus 12, soccer 10, 11, 123 Track 11, 12: Athletic Club 12. Selig is one of the more athletically inclined seniors, being a member of the swim- ming, soccer and track teams. "Ap" also plays with the Muhlenberg Juniors, now Eastern State Soccer champs. Someday he hopes to be- come a professional wrestler. Here's hoping you will fight to the finish, Albert. Richard Miller Academic: Hall Patrol 12: Chorus12g Table Tennis Club 12. Dick is the jester of the class and plans to sue the borough of Laureldale for building the streets too far from his knees, as he towers 6 feet 1 inch in the air. Besides being a member of the hall patrol Dick is a number one man on the table tennis team. Girls con- stitute a great part of Mil- ler's daily leisure schedule, but after he is handed his diploma he wants to take up flying. Walter Kramer Academic: Table Tennis Club 12. Too teasing to be consid- ered quiet is characteristic of this blue-eyed student. Walter's favorite study is mathematics. Table tennis, bicycling and roller skating take up much of his free time. "Doc" is undecided as to his future work. The class extends its best wishes to your achievement. Waynef-L. Gasser Academic: Soccer 10, 11, 12: Hall Patrol,.125 Swimming '10, 11, 12, Basketball 12. "Gass" sports five Varsity "Mis" for playing on. the soccer, swimming, tennis and basketball teams, and for being track manager. Sports constitute his hobby and therefore he rates gym class as his favorite subject. Gass- er is well known by the Muhlenberg lassies and he 'tloves 'em all." When Wayne gets his dip- loma he wants to study to be a machinist. Happy tinker- ing, Gasser! Walter Koch Academic: Hall Patrol 12: Debating 11, 12: Honor Society 11, 12, Hunting and Fishing Club 12. Walter is one of the few seniors not having a nick- name. History, mathematics, and the sciences rate ,high with Koch. During hunting season you can find him with a gun in hand going after wild game.
