George Semmel Industrial: Basketball 11, 12: Hunting and Fishing Club 12. Manager of the boys, var- sity basketball team is the position George held during the past season. Besides bas- ketball he also enjoys base- ball and soccer. Among Semmel's hobbies are Working with wood, around cars, and with mo- tors. ln the future George intends to become a machin- ist or Work in a steel mill. The class wishes you well, George. Adam Rentschler Commercial: Hall Patrol 12: Band 10, 11, 12: 0. G. A. Club 12. Adam is one of the musical minded boys of the class and has played the trumpet in the school band since seventh grade. Ad spends his spare time listening to the radio and driving a car. Hunting, swimming and fishing rate high as his hob- bies. After graduation Adam hopes to enter bookkeeping school or obtain a position in an office. Donald Reinhold Academic: Band 10, 11, 12: Orchestra 10, 11, 12: Chorus 12: Soccer 11, 12: Little Theatre Club 12: National Honor Society 11, 12: Swimming 10, 11, 12: Hall Patrol 12. Dinny is one of the ener- getic lads of the class who played the trombone in the school band and orchestra for several years and also plays in a local dance band. Donald plans to attend Wyomissing Polytechnic ln- stitute to prepare for a ca- reer in chemical engineering. William Thomas Commercial: Chorus 12: Stage Club 12. Carrying newspapers is the way this 12B lad earns his spending money. Besides doing this Bill likes to build model air- planes and go fishing. He chooses baseball and basket- ball as his favorite sports. During his senior year Thomas served as secretary to R. L. Brown, health tea- cher. William is undecided about the future, but would like to join the air corps. Elmer Gottsehall Industrial: Band 10, 11, 12: Drcheltra 10, 11, 12. Elmer played a trombone in the school band and or- chestra for the past Hve years. Babe is also a mem- ber of a local orchestra and the Metropolitan Band, Laur- eldale. Elmer uses up most of his spare time playing table ten- nis and helping his father work on a milk truck. After graduation Babe intends to work at a dairy. Robert Rothenberger Industrial: Soccer 11, 12: Basketball 10, 11, 12: Baleball 11: National Honor Society 12. Bops is a small but mighty athlete who has earn- ed letters in soccer, baseball and basketball. He is the only member of the senior class who played on the var- sity basketball team for three years. Ace served as president of 12C home room in his sen- ior year. Bops hopes to become a carpenter after graduation. Frederick B. Pehlman General: Art Club 12. 'fFreddie is one of the jo- vial members of the senior class and rates talking his fa- vorite pastime. During his senior year he served as secretary to E. B. Reinert, geography teacher. Pelly likes to go to foot- ball and hockey games, and builds boats as a hobby. Pelly at present is un- decided as to what he is go- ing to do after graduation. Bentley Ziegler Industrial: Table Tennis Club 12: Chorus 12. Here is Muhlenberg's num- ber one tennis man. Bentley was an active tennis team member in his junior and senior years. In his spare time Ben likes to take part in some kind of sport, especially basketball or tennis. After graduation this lad intends to get a job, but as yet is undecided what kind. Good luck, Bentley.

Introducing you to an am- bitious miss of the home eco- nomics section who served as Girl Reserve refreshment committee chairman and has been one of the most active workers in the kitchen at various teas, dinners and luncheons during the last year. Mae is fond of dancing as a pastime. She classes sewing as her favorite subject. A f t e r graduation Mae would like to become a wait- ress at a soda fountain. Mary Ellen Hellman Academic: National Honor Society 125 Little Theatre Club 12: Orchestra 11, 12: Band 10, 11, 12: Chorus 12. Should you hear some sweet clarinet strains coming from behind a closed door it's ten to one that it is Mary Ellen practising. This little but mighty miss took part in Camp Fire and Little 'Theatre Club produc- tions as well as the class play. Her ambition is to become a music teacher. Here's a note to success, Mary Ellen. Eleanor Schubert Commercial: Chorus 12: Girl Reserves 12: National Honor Society 11, 123 Observer 12: M Club 12: Basket- ball 11, 12: Track 11, 12: Tennis 11, 12: Little Theatre Club 12: Debating 11, 12: Quill and Scroll 12. Eleanor is sweet sixteen, the youngest and one of the more versatile members of the senior class. During her senior year her interests centered around girls' sports, Girl Reserves work and journalism. Eleanor's many qualities will assure her of success in whatever position she ac- quires after leaving school. Marjorie Boyer Academic: Art Club 123 Chorus 12. Whenever there is a con- cert or a lecture held within reasonable distance it is very likely you'll find this quiet miss among those present. Margie spends much of her leisure time making scrap- books, and during the sum- mer months indulges in her favorite sports, which are swimming and badminton. Marjorie has made no Final decision as to what she will do after graduation, but the class wishes her luck and success. Raymond E. Boyer Industrial: Chorus 12. Raymond is another one ol' the taller members of the class, reaching to a height of six feet. Bud , as he is known to his friends, rates shop as his favorite subject. He consumes most of his spare time by target shoot- ing. After graduation Bud is going to General Motors Automobile School, Flint, Mich. Good luck, Bud . Dorwin Searfoss Industrial: Hunting and Fishing Club 12: Chorus 12. Although Dorwin has no definite plans his main aim is to get a job after grad- uation. Metal shop is Duddie's best liked subject. He thinks nothing is quite so much fun as playing soccer and he may be seen doing this in his spare time. May you reach your goal of success, Dorwin. A Charles Brown General: Chorus 12. t'Charlie is an air minded individual, as his main in- terest lies in flying. After graduation he intends to join the United States Army Air Corps. Listening to the radio and reading good books take up most of his spare time. Good luck, Charles. The class wishes you success and happiness. Richard Bare Academic: Basketball 12: Athletic Club 12: National Honor Society 12. Participating in sports is the way in which Fat likes to spend his time. Besides playing forward on the var- sity basketball team, Bare also played baseball. When not enagaged in some sport Fat also likes to work on the farm. Richard would like to go to college after graduation and study chemistry.

He enjoys most sports but prefers baseball, fishing, hik- ing, bicycling, or a good game of marbles. Grimmy's favorite subject is office practice. He was secretary to W. B. Johnson, metal shop teacher, and wishes to secure a sec- retarial position after gradu- ation. May luck be your best companion as you go on your way. Clifford Ebersole General: Art Club 125 Chorus 12. Cliff is one of the taller members of the senior class. He reaches to a height of 6 feet 1 inch. His favorite pastimes are playing cards and horseback riding. Cliff rates swimming tops in sports. After graduation Cliff ex- pects to work for his father, dredging coal from the Schuylkill River. Class of '40 wishes you success. Thomas Stoudt Academic: Hunting and Fishing Club 12. Tom is very fond of out- door life and spends his sparetime hunting and fish- ing. He also enjoys playing baseball and softball. Chemistry is this lads fav- orite subject. Stoudt has made no defin- ite plans for the future. The class, however, wishes him the best of luck. Robert S. Beadle Industrial. Robert's main interest lies in the field of aviation. If he cannot get a job after grad- uation he would like to join the United States Army Air Corps. William Geisler Commercial: Table Tennis Club 12: Hall Patrol-12: Observer 12: Chorus 12. Will likes to collect stamps, used envelopes. and match book covers in his spare time. After school hours he works in a garage at Temple. During his senior year Will served as circulation mana- ger for the Observer and secretary to K. H. Schmehl, mathematics teacher. After graduation Wi1liam's ambition is to own and oper- ate a garage and gas station of his own. Philemon B. Kurzweg Academic: Orchestra 125 Band 11, 125 Soccer 10, 11, 12: Chorus 129 Hall Patrol 12. Playing drums and listen- ing to the radio occupy much of Phil's spare time, while gym, history and mathematics are his best lik- ed subjects. Coach hopes to enter a college to study physical ed- ucation or music composi- tion. ln case Kurzy doesn't go to college he would like to play in some orchestra. Joseph Rea Academic: Little Theatre Club 12: Hall Patrol 12. l'm not in love with any subject is Joe's confession about his school work. Al- though he reaches into the atmosphere only 5 feet 415 inches Rea possesses a fine physique and rates boxing as his hobby, but finds it difiicult to get atrecipient for his sleeping powder right. After obtaining his release from Muhlenberg Joe wants to join the navy and see the world. Bon Voyage! , Harold J. Moyer General. Harold is a quiet member of the senior class. t'Chief , as he is known to his friends, is a fire-fighting fan and goes to most of the local fires, if he is not in school. Chief,' is fond of playing cards and enjoys going to see hockey and football games. After graduation Harold would like to get a job 'as a chauffeur. Good luck, Har- old!
