In 1887 graduated from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia and was ordained a minister of the Lutheran Church. Is a member of the Ministerium of Pennsylvania since his ordination. From 1887-1910 was pastor of the Trinity Lu- theran Church of Bethlehem. In 1906 was elected to member- ship and office of Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Muhlen- berg College.
