PEP SQUAD ROW ONE-Y. Bauer, Listerluuu, Dotzauer, Craig, Lober, Aug. ROW TWO--'l'. Bauer. Turner, Weimer, Kircher, Knoop, Hott, Phillips. ROW 'I'llRl'1l'1-Miss Krick, Heisel, Huy, Renter, Keeling, Crosby, Lucke, Stenger, Long. ROW FOUR-Bissel, Schultz, Wolf, Cormack, Marucci, Heller. Sauer. Yea team! Fight! Fight! Fight! Yep! you guessed it! It's the Pep Squad cheering our boys to victory again! Not only does the Pep Squad root for the teams, but it has helped to imbue the whole school with that cheerin' spirit. When this worthy organzation gave a Pow Wow-a rootin'-tootin', heppy-peppy affair, no wonder we won the game the next day. Then the Pep Squad made all our stomachs happy when they gave two bake sales-with yummy stuff to eat! They sponsored the Holly Hop to boost that bank balance to give an even-better Athletic Banquet this year. The club's Basketball Queen candidate, Margie Sauer, was endorsed heartily. And who will ever forget the drug-store skit given for Open House. And last, and most important, the Pep Squad closed a successful season by giving the athletes of the school a banquet in which the various awards and let- ters were presented to our well-deserving lads for their enviable records of the year. A. embarked on another year on September 12 with a party for new and old members. The next day an initiation was held. Then on October 28, the members enjoyed a hay-ride. All this time, every Tuesday the girls had prac- ticed archery and baseball. January 13 came, and a Skating Party at Sefferinds, followed by a dance in February. During the early winter, the girls bowled and played badminton. Then, later, basketball was their major sport. At Open House, twelve girls played an exhibition game, and again on March 27, they travelled to Plainville and defeated that team in two games. When spring finally arrived, it found the girls ready to practice track. After this, the members made another journey to Plainville on May 12, where G. A. A.'s from different schools had a Play Day. That night, to end a perfect day, and a lpierfelct year, the members and their guests had another hayride at Handlebar anc . Preszdent .................,..... .,......... LITERARY GOLD DIGGERS ROW ONE-Hudson. Moore, S. Peterson, Hartman, Rowland, Bell. ROW TWO-Mrs. Soller, Wolfe, Esselman, Malone, M. Petersen, Renter. ROW THREE-Borcherding, Hoy, Knoop, l-lartung, Heismann. Well, blow me down, if here isn't the L. G. D., that sensational girls' club with the litreary background! After their fall picnic on the rolling acres of Mr. King, the girls really went to town, for they joined the Literary Guild which enabled them to see five productions at the Taft Theater. Among these were The Cherry Orchard, Oklahoma, and Othello. Variety, did you say? One drawback to these expeditions was the fact that the girls had to miss seventh period class to arrive in time. CBut you can be certain, none of them ever failed to make the south- bound bus.J Other activities included sponsoring a sparkling candidate for basketball queen, Shirley Rowland. Some of the members participated in a skit, which was one of the program features at Open House. Their dramatic efforts on that occasion aroused the curiosity of the visiting parents, and we fear, perplexed them. In April new members were elected and honored by the usual progressive supper, now a tradition of the group, and a climax to the full schedule of events, sponsored by the L. G. D.
