IE; wQA Fat: M i Sophomore Glass OPHISTICATED? Rather; and we shall also say sensi- ble. For although sensible is generally applied to Seniors, we can also say it about our Sophomores. Both ad- jectives describe the sophomore class of thirty-two girls and twenty-six boysi It is the largest Sophomore class Mt. Healthy High School has ever had. The attendance is very good, and the detention class is very seldom honored by Sophomores for being tardy. The Sophomore class has shown much ability in athletic activities. We feel that congratulations are in order for the next captain of the basketball team, A1 Wolf, a sophomore. Any time after 2:30 o'clock, we can go into the Sopho- more room and find many students diligently working. We know they are industrious, but the mystery is What is the great attraction? , and especially, Why do we always find Brownie Stout among those present, when these studious creatures are struggling through a Biology assignment? It might be a certain tall youth with wavy hair, who wears glassest We notice that Helen Eldred has a keen e'ye for color. Probably that is why George Becker wears such Bright ties. There is wonderful talent for music among the Sopho- mores. Many orchestra members are from this class. There is also artistic talent, for once in a while when Leslie Shaw gets an inspiration, the blackboards in the Sopho- more home room are decorated with clever sketches. Leslie likes to portray the Missing Link , made famous by Darwin in the theory of Evolution. The Sophomores are quite tractable. They are prob- ably afraid they will be locked up in one of the many cup- boards in the Sophomore room or laboratory if they are not good little boys and girls, for Mr. Petrich carries a huge bunch of keys. The Sophomores are very good and obedient. They never talk back when Mr. Petrich calmly invites them to meet him in detention class. They always uget the point . Repeating the words of Mr. Petrich, to which I think everyone will agree, we can say They are a pretty good class . :-uq-x . 27 b 3 :-x :-x
