Senior Officers :ind Advisors min 6145.4 flliuozq In September, 1953, fifty freshmen entered Moweaqua High School. Upperclassmen welcomed them with a cake-coloring and cold cream initiation. With Miss Bunton as advisor, the first class meeting was held on September 18, and the follow- ing officers were elected: President. . . ....... .... C aren Newman Vice-President ....... .... Joyce Vincent, Bill Wilcox In late September the sophomores entertained the freshmen with a hayride. The class entered a float, Pirates and Indians , in the Homecoming Parade. The Homecoming King and Queen candidates were Donnas Rettig and Dick Armstrong. On September 16, 1954, forty-five sophomores met and elected the following officers: President.......... .... . ...... ........ ......WayneStump Vice-President ....... . . Donnas Rettig Secretary-Treasurer. . . . . . Joyce Hoewing Reporter ........... . . . Ruth Ann Beckman Student Council .... . . Sharon Snyder, Joyce Vincent Alan Adamson, Dick Armstrong Wayne Stump On October 27, the class gave the freshmen a Halloween party, with everyone dressed as a' ghost The class entered the float, We'll Whip Assumption , in the Homecoming Parade. The Home- coming King and Queen candidates were Caren Newman and Wayne Stump. On September 1, 1955, the junior class met with class advisors, Mr. Burns and Mr. Fedrigon, to elect the following officers: President ............... . . Dick Armstrong Vice-President ....... .... V al McPeak Secretary-Treasurer ................................... Caren Newman Reporter ............................................. Sharon Snyder The class chose class rings, which arrived November 16, 1955. Thejuniors elected Patsy Cole and Val McPeak for Homecoming candidates. The junior float, with the theme Race to Victory , won second place. The junior play, A Case of Springtime , was given April 13, 1956. On May 12, 1956, the jimior class gave the annual Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. The theme was Evening in Paris . On the first day as seniors, the class met with their advisors, Mr. Burns and Mr. Fedrigon, to elect the following officers: President.............. ..Va1McPeak Vice-President. . . . . . . . . J oyce Hoewing November 3 the class sponsored the annual Homecoming Dance with the theme Autumn LeaVes . The candidates for king and queen were Joyce Hoewing and Ronnie Myers. On April 5, 1957, the senior class presented the play, Strictly Formal . The seniors chose as their colors, red and white, with red roses as their flower, and United we stand, divided we fal1 as their motto. Baccalaureate was scheduled for May 26, and Commencement Exercises for May 28.
