The Moweaqua Chapter of F F A had a very successful year under the leadership of the following officers: President - Leland Mathias Vice-President - Duck Tolly Secretary - Larry Smith Treasurer - Richard Zindel Reporter - Richard Graven Sentinel - Phil Bohlen On September I6, l955, ten Greenhands and three Chapter Farmers were initiated into the chapter. The officers and Mr. Knight attended officers' training school and banquet at Assumption Phil Bohlen, Bob Miller Richard Zindel Dick Tolly Richard Graven and Mr. Knight attended the National Convention in Kansas City. The chapter was represented at Section Nineteen Land Judging Contest by Larry Smith, Larry Wooters, John Marlp, Tommy Pyatt, and Richard Graven. The team placed seventh, and Larry Smith placed eighth as an individual. The Moweaqua Chapter acted as host to 20 schools at the Sectional Grain Show. Eighteen Moweaqua members exhibited. The Rotary Corn Show was held in the agriculture shop on November IO, l955. The first place in each class was: Yield - Robert Bohlen One gallon shelled corn - Leland Mathias.
