Seniofz Huiony In the fall of I952 thurty fuve students that were to make up the Freshman Class entered Moweaqua Hugh School At the furst class meetung the Freshman Class elected the followung offucers, under the supervusuon of theur advusors Mr Fassett and Mr Houts Presudent Leland Mathuas Vuce Presudent Sally Sonner Secretary Treasurer Gerru Hardnn Student Councul Pat Jordan and Paul Dobson make the Freshmen feel more welcome un September the Sophomores entertauned them wuth a wuener roast and hayrude at Donnue Shuster s farm During the second week of September the Freshman Class was unutuated by the upperclassmen makung them offucual members of the chool The Homecomung Kung and Queen candudates for the year were Creta Suppes and Emul lsken Durung the school year of l953 54 thurty two Sophomores met and elected the followung offucers Presudent Larry Smuth Vu ce Presudent Duck Tolly Secretary Treasurer Anna Jordan Student Councul Creta Suppes and Ruchard Zundel Mr Decker was class advusor On October 2 l953 the class gave the Freshmen a party There was a hayrude and entertaun ment at Anna Jordan s home The class entered the float Scalp Em, lnduans un the Homecomung Parade Anna Jordan and Dan Nusser were kung and queen candudates At the begunnung of the school year the Junuor Class held uts furst class meetung to elect the followung offucers Presudent Duck Tolly Vuoe Presudent Ruchard Zundel Student Councul Anna Jordan, Judy Bulkley, Duck Tolly, Larry Smut , Leland Mathuas Also the Junuors selected class rungs, whuch arruved later un November The float Waltzung to Vuctory won second pruze un the Homecomung Parade As kung and queen candudates the class chose Judy Bulkley and Ruchard Zundel In Aprul the annual Junuor Play Men Are Luke Streetcars was guven ln Aprul the Junuor Class added the clumax to the year by guvung the Junuor Senuor Banquet and prom lt was the furst prom to be held un the new school buuldung The theme was Moonlught and Roses On the first day as Senuors of Moweaqua Hugh School the class met wuth Muss Moore and Mr Corby to elect the class offucers and to decude upon Senuor graduatuon unvutatuons As Senuor offucers the class elected the followung people Presudent Ruchard Graven Vu ce Presudent Phulup Bohlen Secretary Treasurer Beverly Smock O tober 22 the class sponsored the annual Moweaqua Homecomung Dance un the All Purpose Room Everybody enloyed the musuc of George Lynn s Band Ruchard Graven and Donus Colluer won the tutle of Kung and Queen of the Homecomung Play tryouts were October 26 un the All Purpose Room On November l8 the Senuors presented the play You Can t Kuss Carolune Funally hugh school days for the class of 56 came to a close on the twenty fufth of May wuth that wonderful day of GRADUATION I - . , . . .
