It takes much hard work to make a dent in one of the toughest football conferences in the state. This year the Western Conference was one of the strongest. No less than four of its ten teams were, at one time or another, ranked among the state's AAA top ten. Late last summer, pre-dawn practice initiated the 1968 football season. Later, for three hours each school day the squad worked out, pointing for that one important hour on Fri- day or Saturday night.
