MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT L. E. Atkinson Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Should not this be the desire of each one of us and the goal of Christian education? And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.- Romans 12:2. What a privilege it is to have the Holy Spirit as our teacher and the Lord Jesus Christ as our wisdom! May these days at Mountlake continue to be a time of growing in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. - f--1 e---fr Y . v .,....,,,. r 5

MESSAGE FROM THE HEADMASTER Richard R. Lather Greetings and congratulations to the students at Mountlake Christian School. It has been another interesting and suc- cessful s chool year, 1968-69. May each of you tr e a su r e and appreciate this second edition of the QUEST. Dr. Roy L. Smith, relates the story of an elderly Scotsman who, as a small lad, would sit in an up s ta ir s window every evening in the twilight and watch for the coming of the lamp-lighter, who would zigzag his way down the street, lighting the lamps as he went. A-Q Now and then the silent old man would look up at the Window s and Wave his hand in cheerful greeting to the little watcher. When he had passed through the street, the evening shadows were penetrated at intervals by the flickering lights he had left burning along the Way. To be a lamp-lighter in life is a glorious occupation. It is heartening to contemplate that any and all of us can be lamp-lighters, so that we, wherever we go, can leave a light behind us: the light of a friendly smile, of a hearty laugh, of a warm handclasp to one in troubleg the light of an inspiring story, of a word of cheer, of a challenging example, of a gift of loveg the light of a burden lifted because of our having passed that way. How Wonderful if, after our passing, someone may contemplate the life we have lived and the deeds we have done and say, He left a light! And whatsoever ye, do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Colosiians 3:17. L - 7
