Our couniry's ideas and policies concerning world peace and The problems we face in irying io achieve ii. To all Americans. a perennial problem of ihe greaiesi concern is ihe preservaiion oi our way of life. If we are 'ro succeed in our Task. we musi keep faiih in our democraiic insiiiuiions, and we musi be an enlighiened people. The life of a democracy depends on an enlighiened people who have reiained iaiih in iheir own social insiiiuiions: io help build such people is ihe responsibiliiy of free public educaiion.
