A LA LEGEND With the Arabian Nights as the theme, the Freshman Reception, the first social event of the year, was very successfully sponsored by sophomores. Dancing, games, and ping-pong furnished enter- tainment for the four hundred who attended. BRA1NSTORMS Although the sophomores are next to the smallest class in school, they had thirteen in the C S F during the first semester and seven during the second. The seven second-semester members were: B. Berry, E. Kerrick, R. McMurray, G. Nakano, M. Sutter, M. Tera- niura, and C. Uhrhammer. THOUGHTFULNESS Wishing that Miss Louise Schmidt, the sophomore sponsor, would get-well-quick, Miss Coleman's advisory sent her a St. Joseph lily for Easter. During Miss Sch1nidt's absence, Mr. Robert Gross, and Mrs. Ruth Hermann substituted. PLEASURE + CAPITAL : CARNIVAL Contributing largely to the tremendous success of Pleasure Island, booths under the direction of sophomore advisers proved extremely profitable. These were: Peanuts, Miss Schmidt, hot dogs and darts and balloons, Miss Coleman, hammer and nails, Mr. Lehang hamburgers, Miss Fox, and the 'Lbig apple, a new discovery, Mr. Smith.
