Christmas carols played hy the school orchestra and sung by the A Cappella choir. composed the Christmas program, given by Mrs. Downey? advisory. GIRLS EXCLUSIVELY Witli every girl in the advisory taking part in their assemhly hour, consisting of two one-act plays, aerohatics. and a dramatic reading, Miss Stefl'an's group gave the first class program of 1938. TAKE CARE, MR. ORPHEUS Presenting a variety of numbers, ranging from short imitative selections to compositions by Tschaikowsky, the San .lose W P A i Fw orchestra, invited to play by Mr. Camphell's advisory. presented a program in .lanuary. lN RHYTHM Crooning, gymnastics, an accordion song stylist, and numbers played hy the Stanford hand, made up the program sponsored hy Mr. Ruhl's registry. SWlNGAROO Mr. Edwards' advisory showed that swing has invaded school music. Twenty-five swingsters from Palo Alto. their student leader, and their instructor. swung sensational arrangements of popular songs. CULOSSAL CARNIVAL With the Golden Cate Bridge as their theme. juniors sponsored a very successful fair.
