nergy, at 8 in the morning? Can stu- dents really be full of spirit at that time of the day? Most of the time it would be hard to even be awake, but it is a little easier on the mornings of pep as- semblies. Whether for the first football game of the year, the most important football game, or a basketball game, pep assemblies carry with them an air of confidence and support for the teams. In the '84-'85 school year a major change came with the assemblies. In previous years assemblies were held between first and second hours. The change meant that assemblies were to be held before school at 8 a.m. The main reason for the change was due to students leaving campus during the assemblies. Assistant Princi- pal Richard Anderson said, We have a responsibility for the students who leave campus. This way if they don't want to attend the as- semblies they don't have to come to school until 9. The time change did not affect the true spirited Toros. To them it did not matter when or where the as- semblies were held as long as they were able to let everyone lcnow how they felt about their teams.
