Welcome Old . . . hewl Thank goodness itys Fri- day. It's been one long week and it's a relief when the bell finally rings, signaling the beginning of our first assem- bly. As I join the rest of the students walking toward the gym, I can feel the nervous tension of the Sophomore Class. Entering the doors I'm quickly swal- lowed up by the crowd and blindly led into the gym. The band is wildly playing as I spot my friends at the top of the bleachers. I wrestle my way to them, and wait for the assembly to begin. Yelling and clapping with my friends, I wonder what's going to happen next. Sud- denly I realize my name is being called for class competition. 'Tm not going down theref' I insist. A few encouraging shoves from my so-called friends proved otherwise. Love seems to be in the air as jim Ashmorc romantically looks into Kelly Gibsons eyes. Look mom, no cavities, explains sophomore Rusty Newth .is he attends his first high school dance. Mike Springer and Pere Crimmins show that there's no such thing as hav- ing too much fun. This happy group of seniors proudly display the familiar Toro sign as they gather to pose for a picture. 16 Hello Week fa ff! t Always in style, Victor Hurrier srrurs his stuff to the latest tunes at the hello dance. Glenn Daly and Debbie Camptell arc caught by surprise by a yearbook photographer.
