Mr. Walter C. Little joined the El Monte Union High School District in 1949, serving first as a teacher of art at El Monte High School for three years, then chairman of tlie art department at Arroyo High School, and now yearbook advisor and art instructor specializing in ceramics at Mountain View High School. A graduate of Manual Arts High School, Mr. Little took college work at Kansas State College and George Pepperdine University where he received his bachelor degree and post-graduate work in the major field of fine arts, specializing in ceramics and painting, with minors in Social Science and Education. In 1955 when he took on the task of establishing the art department at Arroyo High School , he was re- sponsible for pioneering many courses of study and served as department chairman for fifteen years. In addition to his work in a art, Mr. Little has taught navigation and geographical studies and helped set up a navigation and recon- naissance training program while in the United States Air Force at Waco, Texas. In all of his twenty-five professional teaching years, Mr. Little has demonstrated a strong concern for people and their welfare. In this respect he has always found time to give extra attention to others, whether i t be in sponsoring student groups, such as the Christian Crusaders and Art Clubs at Arroyo, or by boosting professional standards through service as Vice President of the District Teacher ' s Association. It is in gratitude for the skillful work, concern, and human sensitivity shown toward students and staff members alike, that this 1974 AEGIR is dedicated to Mr. Walter C. Little.
