CHORU The chorus has agarn had an outstandrng year They have sung upon many occaslons and at several drfferent towns 'Never to be forgotten rs the trrp to li lavan, when the chorus sang Ole Ark s A Nfloverrng, the rrsers, whrch consrsted of planks lard oJer brrcks, actually d1d move, gxvrng a rather novel effect The chorus presented several concerts the Chrrstmas concert, all vocal concert, a sprrng concert, an all sacred concert rn the Gospel Mennonlte Lhurch, and an exchange concert rn Wrndom Hrgh School In addrtlon to these concerts, they performed a few numbers at the Teachers Conventron and Rotary Club Banquet Out of the favorrte numbers of the chorus was I Nlerrus Chrrstnn s Psalm '50 vvhlch was used as therr contest prece ln thrs number the chours often made use of the Prg Lvercrse The result, however vvasn t as grunly as the name sounds They 1lso enyoyed a modernrstrc number entrtled llodre, Cshrrstus natus est, rn sprte of the fact that they practrced so hard on one phrase that they could srng rt hackvva ds Of course no concert rs complete vsrthout a few Negro sprrrtuals Ole Mk s A 'vloverrng and Set Down Servant were the old stxndbys Other favorrtes of the chorus were llow I-arr the Church of Chrrst Shall Stand, Lost ru the Nrght, ant. -PC BAN D and performed on many occasxons Wrndom agam mvxted the band to march at therr Flax Day celebratlon The band also played at our Homecoming festrvltxes February 20 was hand nrght rn whrch the band and instrumental ensembles performed The pep band played for all pep meetrngs, and home football and basketball games The band also played an important part rn the basketball tourna ments, playrng at the drstrrct, regronal, and state tournaments Thxs year the band dld very excellent work at the drstnct, and t was the only band to recerve an A' ratxng In May the band agam appeared rn publlc at the sprmg concert Members of the band and the whole cornmunlry w1ll agree that we had a very outstandrng band thxs year This year, as usual, the band had nts share of varxous sundry char acters Who can ever forget the soothing musrc comlng from the saxo- Phone duet, Tanta Anna Loewen and 'Plast1c Reed 1ungas7 Ladres Ard meets every band day nn the second and thtrd clarmet sectxon This meetxng rs helped out on occaslon by certain of the thrrd comets CAll this IS much to the dxstress of Mr Runestad J There rs no future nn playmg bass vlol and ttmpanr, say two girls who mrssed the State Tournament band thrs year Edlth and Lrla are planmng to convert the bass vrol and the trmpant lntoa root beer stand thxs summer Another player whose musrc was out of thrs world was frrst trom bonxst, Kenny Wall However, due to hrs soft playxng, he was drowned out most of the tnme by Hot Lrps' Hrebert The greatest joy for Mr Runestad w1ll be the trme when every member ln the band wrll be able to count cut time Wlll that ever come true? 35 i ii Q , I I f' r ...Q 1.
