BAND Under the direction of Philip Meerscheidt, the Mountain Home High School Band per- formed between halves at five football games, marched in four parades, gave three concerts, played for the Community Christmas Concert, and played for all pep as semblies . The small number due to a whole new into operation this symphonet band in in the band this year is music system being put year. It consists of a the sixth grade, a be- girmer band, and a junior high band. Quality is stressed rather than quantity. Pictured below is the Mountain Home High School Band, composed of thirty-four members. It has played for many civic affairs. HOME ECONOMICS The Home Economics I classes are learning to plan, prepare, and serve family meals and are learning to make their own clothes . The Home Economics Il classes took the Red Cross Home Nursing Course. The Home Economics III class made Slipcovers for furni- ture for the Student Lounge. 1 Shown at right is a Home Ec. I class sewing with their teacher, Mrs. Har- bison, assisting them. ESTHER HARBISON Home Economics B. S. H. E. , Colorado State University This year FHA projects were: Giving fruit and presents to the old folks home, making FHA jackets, and working on their degrees. The officers are: Presi- dent, Janice McCracken, lst Vice President, Deanna Choateg Znd Vice President, Lorraine Miller, 3rd Vice President, Liz Studdardg Secretary, Esta Norman, Treasurer, Virginia Choateg Reporter, Alice Provenceg Song Leader, Bernice Summersg and Historian, Lynn Hackler.
