COMMERCIAL The objective in shorthand was to attain the highest possible standards of shorthand achievement--the ability to take dictation encountered in business situations, and the ability to read the dictation with sufficient accuracy. Forty students are enrolled in Shorthand I and II. Gregg Shorthand Certi- ficates were given each month ranging from 60 to 120 words per rninute. MARY ALICE ELAM Commercial B. A. , Colorado State College of Education 1,4 The building of a usable skill is the primary aim of the typing classes. Skill is not based completely on speed, but also on accuracy with a reasonable amount of speed. There are 62 first year typing stu- dents and 30 second year typing students enrolled this year. Gregg Certificates were awarded all through the year.
