MRS GENE MOONEY M e comb College MUSIC Fourteen students are taking private piano lessons from Mrs. Mooney this year in the highschool and junior high departments. Shown above are Vickie Saunders, Janice Wheeler, Marta LouHenley, Linda Nevius, Carolyn Carroll, Carolyn Barnes, Kathy Campbell, Frances Dryer, Mary Atherly Mary Studdard, Sharon Powell, Christine Stovall, Mary Sue Mooney, and Beverly Danhauser. The Mountain Home High School glee club has 31 members this year. They combined with members of the band to give a Christmas assembly program at Christmas time. They have given other assemblyprograms, and several radio broadcasts during the year. The glee club is pictured below with the music director, Mrs. Mooney. 12

MATHEMATICS A full schedule of mathematics is on the agenda of the math teachers this year. Mr. Clinkingbeard has 3 classes of algebra 1, a high school math. class, and a business arithmetic class. Mr. Pierce teaches algebra 11 and geometry. In the picture below is one of Mr. Clinkingbeard's albebra 1 classes. WAYNE CLINKINGBEARD Mathematics B, S. , Ouachita College ' ' g It Q -sf , 'ul X A c4f ' A HOWARD PIERCE Mathematics, Science B.S., College of the Ozarks Chemistry students have gained a wide knowledge of their science this year, under the direction of Mrs. Lyle. Experiments are used to illustrate certain types of chemical reactions. Mr. Pierce teaches the biology class in the same classroom, using much of the same apparatus. Below are some of the chemistry class decomposing mercuric oxide. They are: Carroll Kytle, Dickie Dahlen, SonnyEkdah1, Junior Deatherange, Jim Bryant, Mickey Nearn, Curtis Brooks, and Ed Bradley. A school orchestra was organized this year to play for special school gatherings and various other programs for the school and clubs in Mtn. Home.
