The Bombers traveled to Clinton to play the Yellowiackets. A highly disputed play for a point after a touchdown by Clinton reached the Arkansas Athletic As- sociation. Because our team put sportsmanship above victory and gave Clinton the extra point the Bombers received commendation from the A.A.A. The score ended T3 to T3. The Blue and Gold team of M.H.H.S. were startled in their second home game ofthe season. With the Bombers leading T2 to O at the half a spirited Bentonville Tiger team came back to tie the locals l2 to 12. October T6 the Berryville Bobcats came over to the local stadium to play at the Bombers Homecoming. The Mountain Home team emerged way ahead by a score of 31 to 7. The Bombers played in another homecoming this one at Heber Springs. The boys avenged a pasting of last year by walloping the Heber Springs team 45 to O. ln the last home game of the season, a strong team from Ava, Missouri, was welcomed by Mountain Home, and the Panthers left here with a 20 to T4 victory under their belt.

This was Cassvilles last home game of the season which the Bombers spoiled by upsetting a favored opponent 26 to l9. Thanksgiving Day l953 was a blue day for the Bomber team. For thirteen players graduating in 1954 this would be their last game for Mountain Home High School. These boys and the rest of the team put out all they had but still it was not enough. The Harrison Goblins trounced the Bombers 26 to 7. S The Junior Jets organized forthe first time played four games this season two with Clinton and two with Harrison. They beat Clinton in their first game and lost the next three. Ten members of the Junior team will try for the Senior team in the fall of l954. iJ
