Wx' 4, vis In the picture at left Velma crosses the football field with co-captain Jim Nel- son during the ceremony in which she was crowned queen. After the crown- ing the royalty watched the Bombers trounce the Berryville Bobcats 31 to 7.

On September 7, 1953, The school year began in Mountain Home, Arkansas. On May 28, 1954, that school year ended. Between those two dates there were numerous events which we deem worthy of recall. We hope that remembering them will be pleasant. I ! -' J, .,., ,. - - in .I .. Sometime during the first month of school comes that inevitable time when freshmen must learn to respect their elders Cseniorsb. The picture at right was snapped as Toby Wright offered our pho- tographer a piece of gum while Carla Lance pol- ished Joyce Sherman's shoes. Senior Sherman was busy branding Gary Keeter with an F in bright lipstick. We started each morning by pledging allegiance to our flag. ls there a better way to begin a job than by saluting the country which makes that iob possible?

ll There comes the day in every seniors lite when his ring arrives Janette Pitts Gerald Stevens and Anna Mae McCalmont surely werent the most elated three on that day but they re the ones we snapped It takes a while to realize that you're in your last year of high school but when you ut f P on that cap and gown for your picture the idea seems very real.
