Mount de Sales continues to offer a superior education to the Catholic community of Macon and its environs, but if de Sales is to be able to do so into the future, her alumni, alumnae, and friends have a special role to play in securing the financial future of this important educational resource. The Annual Giving Campaign offers the means to accomplish these ends. If every de Sales graduate, and every friend of our school will participate by becoming an Annual Giver, our future will be secure for the next hundred years. Another first: For the first time ever, MDS has two students enrolled whose parents both graduated from Mt. de Sales. Pictured, left to right, are Mr. Bill Harris, '68, Shannon Harris, '89, and Stephanie Harris, '88. Not pictured is their mother, the former Sheila Lamb, '68. How many schools can claim that all the members of an entire family are present on its campus every day? Mt. de Sales can; the Garvin family has both parents on the faculty and all three sons in the student body. Pictured, left to right, are Mrs. Carolyn Garvin, who chairs our Religion Department, Matt, a current freshman, Michael, a graduat- ing senior, Rob, a sophomore, and Coach Mike Garvin, chairman of the Math Deparment, and MDS Athletic Director. ye iaaae Won’t you join the Annual Giving Campaign?

Development - A Lifeline to the Future Since 1979, when the MDS Development Pro- gram was begun, the Board of Trustees has approved the purchase of several pieces of property adjacent to our campus. The pur- pose of these acquisitions is to provide future genera- tions of MDS students with enough space and facilities to continue our tradition of excellence. Since the program was begun, pieces of property have been purchased, two homes have been convert- ed to classrooms, and our campus has been expand- ed and beautified to better meet the needs of the MDS community. When Father John Cuddy (at right) comes to teach our seniors, he visits them in their own classroom building, Hamlet Hall. The building was purchased in September, 1983. Interior renovation and exterior beautification were performed during the summer of ‘84. Rose Place was purchased in September, 1980 and first dedicated to classroom use in August, 1983. Its small classrooms and quiet atmosphere make it perfect for religion classes; in fact, all of our sophomore religion students, and some of our juniors, have studied in Rose Place during the last two years. Pictured here in the “prayer room” are, left to right: Kim McDaniel, Mary Catherine Johnson, Alyse Eichin, and Cooper Cook.
