Dean's Message DEAR GRADUATES: Another year is coming to a close, another graduating class is taking leave of the hallowed halls of the Mount. This is the fourth year of publication for the graduating class yearbook and a time of pleasant memories and great hopes for the future. The students who worked on the early issues are now gone from our campus, leaving a heritage of pleasant memories that are evoked each time I open one of the books. Many return to tell us of the new experiences they are having as they break new trails across the landscape of their lives. All of them inquire about the students now in the college. It is a pleasure to tell them that our present students show the same good qualities of high motivation and superlative achievement that marked their classes. As the years go by, you will constantly refer to the Yearbook seeking the names of classmates. I hope you will keep the book handy and refer to it often. It is a tremendous privilege for me to share with you in your development and growth. No position can give greater satis- faction than that of Dean of Students, in an enterprise where young people cross new boundaries and where the chief criterion is maturity of mind, spirit, and body. I have enjoyed working with and for each of you. There is a feeling of severance as you will go away from us, yet there is no sense of pain or distress. We have only a feeling of pleasure that you have accomplished your objective and are now ready to reach for the next level of beckoning privilege. We place great trust in you. We have a deep faith in your future and much pride in your accomplishments. May the years be good to you, and yours, and may you come back often to see us. YO , oh P Hogan Si r y e of Student

, W M 5 gmjgwfg 01440 TELEPHONE: 632-1280 OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT May I personally, and on behalf of the faculty and staff of the College, congratulate you on the successful completion of your studies. Each year the faculty demands more and so the test administered to you was more demanding than that offered previously. You also represented previous classes in a most critical way. This year we were visited by faculty from other colleges to determine whether our standards - for students, for faculty, for curriculum - were appropriate. You, the senior student body, performed ably. We did win our accreditation! Therefore, you have the mantle of approval by our faculty and by other faculty that your education is profound, appropriate and preparatory for the next step in your career - either continued col- lege or entrance into the world of commerce. You will surely need command of many resources because the world, today, is filled with more challenges than ever before. Go to beleaguered foreign countries! Help our own cities! Listen to the cries of the unfortunate! Then, help. Apply your sharply-honed talents. Clearly, the class of 1969 has the ability, the promise, and our society needs you badly. Good luck and God speed. Please come back to visit. We enjoyed your all-too-brief tenure with us. 3'
