EUUNEIL The House Council assists the resi- dent faculty in maintaining order, neat- ness, and in assigning student duties. This Council is presided over by a Chair- man elected by the resident students each year. Every hall is represented on the Council by its student proctor. Meetings are held to discuss different dormitory problems and are always open for any student plans and sugges- tions for better dormitory life. Its membership is composed of two faculty members, the president of each class, the president of Optima, and one representa- tive from the student body. The Student Council tries to eliminate as much punish- ment as possible and to build instead a sense of self-discipline in each student. One ofthe principal aims ofthe council is to unify the various Clubs and organiza- tions of the school. They discuss all of the problems which have arisen, and any- one is free to offer suggestions. The meet- ings are open to all, and the students are urged to attend. 13114
