Netters Finish First Unbeaten Season MM: I he girls ' tennis team had a tremendous season. rizz This was the first time in history at Mount Ver- II non that the Bulldog team finished with an unde- feated season. At Subdistrict Karen Frederick captured the singles ' championship. Doubles ' title went to Cathy and Colleen Carney followed by second doubles ' team Shari Duffy and Kay Quail. In district action, once again the Carney sisters trium- phantly placed first in doubles ' while Shari and Kay placed second. Karen Frederick siezed an empressive third pake. They competed in the state tournament during May. Seniors completing their final year were Cathy Carney, Kim Magee. Shari Duffy. Dedication Pays Off For Volley — Bailers tart out with a lot of turnouts — slowly mix in con- centration and inspiration, alternating with a mix- ture of dedication and experience few bumps, spikes and sets — stir throughly and season with the knowl- edge of Coach Karen Tater Tait. What you have now is a fantastic volleyball squad. The girls proved this with an outstanding 13 — 3 NWL record. Their hard work was rewarded at both district and state tournaments. Another Big Season For Cross Country ■H-il he Boys Cross Country team had another good sea- irl son under the direction of Head Coach Barrel Pear- l| son. Their many hours of dedicated training paid off as shown by their impressive 18 win — 2 loss record going into the District meet. The JV team ended a fine season winning the League meet, Mike Roozen taking the first place finish. Seniors finishing their final year of CC were John Maupins. Scott Simon. Dan Boudreau, Brett Heitt. John Youngsman. Gregg Metz. Jacob Kidanemiriam, and Jim Brown. Outstanding underclassmen include Sophomores Bob Davis, and Scott Dougliss and Freshman Cliff Cheney. Displaying ttieir winning stride, Scott Simon, John Maupins. Dan Carton, and Bob Davis speed ahead of their competitors.
