Bulldogs Lose Title In Double-Overtime m reams of the state playoffs were erased when the ' 79 Bulldog football team concluded their season with a loss to Ferndale in a double- overtime post-season thriller. After a disappointing slow start. Coach Rosenbach ' s Bulldogs finally put it all together with a win over Sedro- Wolley in their 5th game. They continued to win 2 of their next 3 games, qualifying them for the league play- offs. The regular season was highlighted by a Homecom- ing win over Anacortes and a 9-0 victory over league leading Sehome. Outstanding Seniors playing their last season as Bulldogs were John Wetsch, Mark Grebenor, Tom Rees. Jeff Wiegand, Mike Brady, Chris Pollino. Doug McCormick, Chris Stewart. Jim Moores. Rich West. Brad Hamcock. John Bogenberger. John King. Joe Bowen. and Paul Force. Also helping out were Juniors Barry Bartram. Guy Milas, Jon Serna, Mike Johnson, Doug West. Jon Schmidt. Todd Rosenbach. and Doug Nelson. Dedication Pays Off For Volley — Bailers tart out with a lot of turnouts — slowly mix in con- centration and inspiration, alternating with a mix- ture of dedication and experience few bumps, spikes and sets — stir throughly and season with the knowl- edge of Coach Karen Tater Tait. What you have now is a fantastic volleyball squad. The girls proved this with an outstanding 13 — 3 NWL record. Their hard work was rewarded at both district and state tournaments. Seniors who played their last year of ball were; Carolyn White. Kristie Overby, Vicki McCutchin, Lisa Fisher, Joni Erspamer, Cyndi Wallace and Cheryl Howell. 4.
